Our gynecology services

Our women's health practices are staffed with gynecologists, who focus on the female reproductive system, and obstetricians, who focus on pregnancy and childbirth.

Gynecological exams

A gynecological exam is a diagnostic tool that helps your obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) determine the overall health of your reproductive organs. Depending on your health history, your doctor will recommend how often you should be examined. We always discuss your concerns and listen carefully so we can answer all of your questions.

A gynecological exam can include:

  • External exam — Examines the external portions of the female genitalia, including the labia and vulva
  • Pap smear — A diagnostic test that detects precancerous and cancerous cells
  • Pelvic and cervix exam — Examines the pelvis and cervix for abnormalities

Gynecological surgery

We perform gynecological surgery using minimally invasive techniques or robotic surgery when possible. These procedures can potentially result in smaller incisions, minimal scarring, a shorter hospital stay and a faster recovery.

Some of the procedures we perform include:

  • Bladder suspension surgery
  • Hysterectomy
  • Pelvic reconstruction or pelvic floor repair
  • Tubal reversal/recanalization

Menopause management

Womanhood is an experience of transition, and one of the most significant ones is menopause. This stage of life can impact many areas, and our gynecologists are here to help you manage menopause with grace. We understand the many symptoms and offer evidence-based treatments, including hormone replacement therapy.

Pregnancy testing

During a pregnancy test, the doctor will either use an in-office urine test or may potentially order outpatient blood work to determine pregnancy. Both diagnostic tests are used to detect human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), a hormone produced during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, we can offer a wide range of prenatal services, including care for low- and high-risk pregnancies.

Preventive care

Our office understands the importance of preventive care for women. We offer health and wellness education to encourage you to schedule screening procedures, such as a yearly gynecological exam. This helps us potentially detect health conditions earlier, when they are most treatable.

STD testing

There are multiple ways to test for an STD, including a blood test, urine test or swab. If the test determines the presence of an STD, our doctors will provide the most effective treatment plan possible. In addition, we also provide vaccines for the human papillomavirus (HPV), a common STD that can lead to cervical cancer.
